Piplup used bubble!

Can you help me with something?

I posted a new deviation, but the background isn't displaying transparent like it should. Instead it's a dark grey dA logo, so I deleted it. How do you make your art's background transparent? Do you use a transparent background with your art, or do you make the background color the same color as the dA background? @_@ I'm confused.
